10th September 2018 | “Making Knickers” with Charlotte Newland, Winner of The Great British Sewing Bee
The wonderful Charlotte Newland, WINNER of The Great British Sewing Bee 2016, will be here in Nailsworth on Monday 10th September 2018 as a special guest teacher running her evening “Making Knickers” workshop! This fun evening workshop will teach you how to make beautifully comfy knickers using the Acacia Underwear pattern by Megan Nielsen (designed for hip sizes 36″ – 44″).
This workshop is for people who know how to use their sewing machine and are knit/elastic newbies…or who just want to make pants!
If you are attending the daytime “Sewing with knits – Making a dress” workshop, you can use your scraps and make knickers that match your dresses!
Where: (Upper Room) Town Hall, Old Bristol Road, Nailsworth, Stroud GL6 0JF
When: Monday 10th September 2018, 18:00 – 20:45
What is supplied: Pattern, cotton jersey (if not using scraps from Dress workshop), matching thread, elastic.
What to bring: Sewing machine, stretch sewing machine needles (size 11 or 12), scissors, tape measure, pins, chalk etc.
Refreshments: Tea & coffee supplied.

About your teacher:
Charlotte is an all-round crafter who loves quilting, dressmaking, knitting and crochet. She was taught to sew as a small child by her mum, grandma and school teachers, and now loves to pass her knowledge on to others. Charlotte believes that crafting is a wonderful escape from the stresses of daily life, as well as giving a sense of achievement from creating something handmade. Charlotte was the winner of BBC’s Great British Sewing Bee 2016, and lives in London with her husband, kids, pets and sewing machines.
